GPHG 2024

Highlight on the GPHG

For the first time, Beaubleu was selected for the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève with its latest creation, the "Seconde Française", in the "Challenge" category. An important step in the history of the Maison that encourages it to look even further for tomorrow.

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) is to watchmaking what the Oscars are to cinema. Its 24th edition was held in Geneva on Wednesday, November 13th during a ceremony presented by actress Carole Bouquet who, this year again, celebrated the great art of watchmaking, its actors and its excellent craftsmen.

For the first time, Beaubleu was part of the show. The Parisian house was selected in the "Challenge" category, which aims to reward a brand whose models are less than CHF 3,000. Although the founder, Nicolas Ducoudert, did not lift the trophy, he says he is moved in many ways to see the brand he has been carrying since 2017 advance in such a big and beautiful step.

There is no doubt that with this first selection at such a renowned prize in the watch industry, Beaubleu is taking a new step in its history. It finds itself at the top of the bill and in the spotlight alongside the greatest and most respected in the industry. A great honour that encourages it to continue and make its small – but certain – way in watchmaking. It is a fact and it is objective, the Parisian is today recognised by its peers and very credible in their eyes. The latter salute its creative approach and its very unique vision of time with its round hands. " You don't push open the door of Beaubleu when you are looking for great complications or ultra-advanced technicality. People come to us for the choice we have made to see time differently from both a philosophical and creative point of view " explains Adrien Degeorges, the Head of Brand . The event is therefore a milestone and it motivates the teams to continue to write a little more of the brand's history every day.

It would seem that the boldness and vision advocated by the French Maison resonate within watchmaking. Beaubleu has chosen to see time differently and affirms this in all its models with round hands. While some watchmakers are in a relentless quest for ever more extreme precision, this is not the path that the Maison has chosen to take. It starts from the principle that everyone experiences the passing of time, the hours and minutes that tick by, in their own way. Without imposing any thought pattern, it takes a slight step to the side, observes and offers its vision of time through its watches and their round hands. And above all, it gives everyone the freedom to appropriate it and draw their own interpretation from it. It is this vision, and undoubtedly this bold creative bias, that are being hailed today by watchmaking.

This nomination at the GPHG in the "Challenge" category alongside Furlan Marri, Space One, Kollokium and a few others, finally demonstrates that this new wave of watchmakers with very distinct universes and equally distinct timepieces, have managed to carve out a place for themselves in the traditional world of watchmaking. A Parisian French brand, Beaubleu is part of a lineage that is unique to it, but it shares its youth with other French Maisons, such as March LA.B or Serica. It has nothing to be ashamed of when compared to the greatest Maisons that have been around for centuries. Beaubleu and its peers are established and are not about to go away!

No challenge prize but increased visibility and recognition for Beaubleu. It's beautiful, it's strong and, once again, very motivating. The Maison's teams thank the members of the jury, the community of its ambassadors, its partners, its collaborators and its manufacture. All those who make watchmaking made in Beaubleu exist and who participate in the adventure. A huge and sincere thank you to all these people who put their energy at the service of the house and who write its history a little more every day.
