Behind the scenes at the Beaubleu Workshops are being revealed through the Production Journey. A series of articles created to explain the manufacturing stages of Beaubleu watches and the challenges they pose.

After the dials, hands, and cases, it's time for assembly. This is where each component takes its rightful place, adjustments are made, and everything works together to bring the watch to life.

The heart of time

Within each watch, the movement orchestrates nearly a hundred components whose interaction ensures the overall precision. Each is assembled, checked, and then adjusted to achieve a rate between -9 and +9 seconds per day.

The oscillating weight, meanwhile, appears to float above the symmetrical balance bridge. A construction choice that reveals the movement in its entirety and highlights the organization of its components.

Everything in its place

The dial is fixed to the mainplate thanks to its two positioning feet located on the back of the part. This operation ensures its perfect centering and its correspondence with the different elements of the watch.

Alignment with the central axis, intended to receive the hands, is subject to constant attention. The winding stem is then installed and adjusted to ensure the proper functioning of the winding and time-setting mechanisms.

A question of timing

Then comes the fitting of the hands, undoubtedly one of the most delicate moments of assembly.

The hour hand, then the minute hand, are successively installed with rigorous alignment, guaranteeing reliable time reading. Centering, superposition, and freedom of movement are systematically checked. A few hundredths of a millimeter are enough to compromise the balance of the whole.

The floating second then joins the movement. With its disc of only 0.17 mm thickness, it requires particular attention during handling. Once installed, it completes the balance of the dial and brings to life one of the most emblematic signatures of the Maison Beaubleu.

Before and after each manipulation, components are carefully cleaned to eliminate any dust or particles that could compromise the proper functioning of the watch.

The moment of truth

Casing marks the last major operation of assembly. The movement is positioned, oriented, and then held inside the case by means of a specially designed ring.

The winding stem and crown are then precisely adjusted to ensure their proper functioning. Before final closure, a final inspection ensures the cleanliness of the assembly and the absence of visible defects.

The case back can then be closed. The watch is now ready for final checks before leaving the workshop.
