Creative Impulse

“ With a strong penchant for aesthetics and a certain obsession with not taking time seriously, the French style of living is an absolutely perfect playground.

A bit like a picturesque postcard, this new collection highlights the timelessness of this very Parisian philosophy; where time is ultimately only subjectivity and contradictions.

So, I hope you will enjoy these two new models which illustrate this collection. Always with that grain of madness and impertinence so dear to Maison Beaubleu.

Inspirations

French Second (nf):

Unit of time specific to the Parisian lifestyle. Casual, enigmatic and free, it illustrates a certain taste for the moment, for the benefit of emotion and pleasure.

As a beautiful part of classic watchmaking, its grained dial is pad-printed with fine railway markings. Its indexes are adorned with Indo-Arabic numerals inspired by the 18th century which give it a very particular style.

The hands are reinvented here in the manner of the leaf hands of yesteryear, for increased precision and a sweet scent of nostalgia. The weightless second hand has that elusive "je ne sais quoi".

Designed like a negative for a photo, its grained surface, somewhat like a sheet of paper is embossed with reliefs. These different surfaces create a play of light and hues adorning this monochrome dial.

The full and empty spaces are read as hours and minutes, thus reimagining how we read time. The circular hands illuminate and prolong the enjoyment of seeing them spin even while in the dark. We find the flying second hand – like a planet – in weightlessness, where it carries out a mysterious revolution.
